This is a stunning trek, with complexity level rated as easy to reasonable. The trek pass through forests and vast meadow, and offers outstanding views of snow clad Himalayas. We start from Ukhimath, and pass from side to side Deoria tal, Chopta and Tungnath to reach the peak of Chandrashila for an astonishing view of the Himalayas. Maximum height reached would be around 3950 at the peak of Chandrashila. Sightseeing begins from Chopta, the rest where the trek begin. Chopta is popular spot for bird surveillance. The good-looking hilly village is itself a sightseeing spot. The 5Km trek from Chopta pass through easy trails till Tungnath temple and turns into precipitous climb for 1.5Km to reach the peak of Chandrashila. There is amazing about the start. I met some man trekkers caption for same destination visually keyed up. We decided to travel jointly to Chopta to cut short the fixed cost. Plan was to take bus to Rishikesh and then jeep to Ukhimath and Chopta.
So just call we arranged your Tungnath trek. Chopta , known mini Switzerland, is a beautifull village balanced at an altitude of 2700 mts. It has yet to witness the wonder of electrical energy and merely has a handful of buses/jeeps plying to and fro. There are some guest houses but we determined to trek to Tungnath having educated that some shopkeepers have gone to open the shops and kick start the period. Tungnath is well-known for the highest temple which is devoted to Lord Shiva. Further than Tungnath the trail carry on to the peak called Chandrashila which is a very attractive vantage point to information Himalayas in a broad range. One would see the whole range in approximately 270 degrees of visibility with peaks like Kedarnath, Chaukhamba, Nanda devi and Trishul among the majority prominent ones. There was little action in the dharmshalas near the shrine which had the kapats been open would be active with clamor. A friendly shopkeeper guarantee to position for a stay even as busy shoveling pile of snow that had collective right in front of his little guest house. Having plenty of time and power and fueled by chance to take sundown shots, I determined to head for Chandrashila along with some other trekkers.
